The Get Downs Lite is a fun and lively swing and soul band, who provide fantastic upbeat dancing music that will keep your guests on the dancefloor from the first song to the last.
The band starts the evening with a set of energetic swing and jive music (including songs such as I Wanna Be Like You, Twistin' The Night Away, Sway) and then moves on to soul and Motown music (Say a Little Prayer, Sir Duke, Valerie).
The varied set list pleases audiences of all ages, making The Get Downs Lite the perfect option for wedding receptions - although the band is also perfect for birthday parties, anniversaries, corporate events and charity balls.
We know that at weddings you need to carefully manage your budget, which is why Down for the Count have made The Get Downs Lite - a smaller version of our original party band The Get Downs. It’s often possible to “upgrade” to a larger line-up closer to your event, if your budget allows and you decide you’d like to take advantage of the larger repertoire list and the fuller, punchier sound delivered by the larger band.
The standard line-up of The Get Downs Lite is a 6-piece band (female vocals, piano, bass, drums, trumpet and saxophone). You can significantly increase the band's repertoire by adding a 7th musician (a guitarist); and the band is also available as part of our wedding music packages, meaning you can have great live musical entertainment throughout your whole wedding day.
