Anton & Issy's Buckinghamshire wedding music package

In 2015, Down for the Count provided a wedding reception music package for Issy & Anton, who hired our musicians for their wedding ceremony and reception in Buckinghamshire.

Down for the Count are from Buckinghamshire - our band leader Mike started the band from a group of friends at Aylesbury Music Centre in 2005. Performing in Buckinghamshire always feels like coming home for us!

Before the day

Issy and Anton were getting married in a yurt in the garden of a private house in Buckinghamshire. Before their wedding we met up for coffee to go through the plans for the wedding in detail, as we were providing them with one of our bespoke wedding music packages.

The Wedding Ceremony

Our wedding music package started with classical music for the wedding ceremony. Issy and Anton were getting married in the chapel at Stowe School, and asked for a church organist to play classical music for the entrance of the bride, the hymns, the signing of the register and finally the recession of the bridal party.

They picked some great pieces of classical organ music, including Clarke's Trumpet Voluntary for the procession, and Handel's La Réjouissance for the recession.

The Drinks Reception and Dinner

Guests then made their way to a vintage London Routemaster bus for the trip back to the wedding reception - sadly it was raining by that time but it did make for some great photos!

Dinner was in a stunning yurt in the garden of an English Country House.

The Evening Party

After dinner, most of the tables were cleared and the Down for the Count Swing Orchestra began setting up for the evening reception. Issy and Anton had asked for our 1950's "jive" look to fit the theme of their party.

Our first set of live music consisted of swing and jive classics, and in set two we performed more contemporary soul, Motown and pop music. The dancefloor was full all evening with some great moves on display!

After the band finished our two sets of live music it was time for a fireworks display marking the end to a memorable wedding day.
