Down for the Count to support The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra
We're delighted to announce that Down for the Count will be supporting The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the Classical Concert at Leeds Castle in 2021, for a great evening of live music in Kent.
Update April 2020: This event, originally planned for July 2020, has unfortunately been postponed due to the ongoing coronavirus situation. However we're delighted to announce that Down for the Count will be performing at the rescheduled event on Saturday 10th July 2021.
We're overjoyed to be invited to take part in this spectacular event, which has been running for over 40 years and is now attended by over 10,000 people every year. The event takes place in the grounds of Leeds Castle (near Maidstone, Kent) and also includes Spitfire flyovers and an amazing fireworks display.
The 12-piece Down for the Count Swing Orchestra will be opening proceedings from 4.30pm when guests arrive on site - we'll be celebrating a new decade (the 2020s) by looking back 100 years to the 1920s - an era when swing music was born in the clubs of New Orleans, Chicago and later New York City. Our show will also celebrate the lives of musical legends Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong, and will be a great way to start the evening.
After that, the UK's premier orchestra The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will take to the stage conducted by John Rigby. Performing classical favourites and modern songs, there will be something for everyone in the Orchestra's set.
We're honoured to be invited to take part in such a special event and we'd love to see you there. There are various ticket options available, starting from £39. Visit the Classical Concert at Leeds Castle website for more information.
