Corporate event music from Down for the Count at The Eiffel Tower

In September 2018, a group of 5 musicians from Down for the Count travelled to Paris in France to play at a spectacular, unforgettable party at The Eiffel Tower.
The event was a corporate event for a UK company, who wanted to pull out all the stops for their 25th anniversary.
They wanted our 5-piece band to perform for them and naturally we were delighted to hop on the Eurostar over to Paris. The drive down in our van went quickly and the get-in at the Eiffel Tower was surprisingly smooth - although finding parking after the load-in was quite difficult!

Background set
We started proceedings with a background set of jazz music from our cocktail pianist, who played subtle jazz standards whilst guests arrived at the Observation Deck on the first floor of the Eiffel Tower and enjoyed drinks and canapes.
Swing set
After some speeches, the swing band took to the stage for the first set which featured jazz and swing classics, including some vintage covers of modern songs in the style of Postmodern Jukebox.
Special requests
The second start started with a few special requests. A few guests joined us on stage for a pre-planned rendition of La Vie en Rose which we performed Louis Armstrong-style; and then our vocalist led the crowd in a rousing rendition of All You Need Is Love which is apparently tradition at the company's parties.
Soul set
We then finished the evening in style with a short set of soul and Motown music to get everyone singing and dancing. Then it was off back to the hotel to celebrate an excellent night's work. We even organised a few shows shortly afterwards at the wonderful Paris jazz club Le Caveau de la Huchette to make the most of our trip across the channel!
