Down for the Count are not an agency, but a collective of around 30 professional musicians who combine in various different formations to create different styles and sizes of band.
That means that the same team of musicians can provide the soundtrack to your whole wedding day - from the Chuppah to the drinks reception, dinner and through to the last dance.

For Jewish weddings, our party bands are available in various line-ups from an 8-piece function band to a stunning 27-piece orchestra - and they are something a little different from your standard function band as they have a huge repertoire which can include swing and jive music, vintage covers of modern songs, and of course all the party favourites you'd expect.

We've been performing at weddings for over 16 years, and we've learnt lots about what works well and what doesn't. The centrepiece of your Jewish wedding music package is your party band. We start by performing a high-energy set of Israeli celebratory music for the Horah, before your guests take to their seats.
The party band then performs between courses and stays after dinner to give you an unforgettable party that you'll remember for years to come.
We have some great party band options - here are the two most popular!
A stunning premium showband, Capital Sounds Showband is available as a 10-piece band and above. It performs up-to-date pop and chart music alongside party favourites, and has a contemporary sound and a stylish look.
If you really want to go to town, you can add extra string players, vocalists and horn players - all the way up to a stunning 27-piece orchestra which provides unforgettable entertainment and is guaranteed to get you dancing all night long.
One of the most versatile party bands in the UK, The Get Downs is available as an 8-piece band and above.
The band starts the evening with a set of swing, jive and vintage music (including vintage covers of modern songs) before moving on to soul and Motown classics - meaning it is perfect for weddings with a large range of age groups.

Our two party bands provide sensational celebratory dancing music for the Horah. We usually start with Hava Nagila and then perform a non-stop medley lasting for around 15 minutes.

We love performing for the Chuppah, performing your requests to create special memories.
Depending on your song requests we might suggest different line-ups - and, with enough notice, we can perform virtually any song - ensuring that your Chuppah is as unique as you are as a couple.
A string group with a difference! Down for the Count Strings perform pop, classical and Jewish music to create a unique atmosphere for your ceremony.
Our wedding pianist has a virtually unlimited repertoire, and can be joined by a male or female vocalist or instrumentalist depending on your choice of music.

Whilst you're taking photos and serving your guests drinks, you can keep them entertained with some more fabulous live entertainment.
The most popular option is to have a small group of musicians from your evening party band perform a lively set of music before the call to dinner. This often happens in a separate part of the venue whilst your dinner room is being prepared.
We have some great options available - here are some of the most popular, but do check out our other line-ups for some more ideas!
The Vintage Strollers are an acoustic band who mingle amongst your guests, entertaining them with uplifting swing, soul and pop music.
If you want a really raucous reception, check out Get Brassy - a New Orleans street band who perform brass band versions of modern pop songs.

During dinner, you could put on your choice of music on our PA system or you can book a smaller group of musicians to provide background jazz, soul or pop music. This could either be instrumental or vocal-led depending on your preferences.
An instrumental band performing well-known jazz standards - providing a sophisticated atmosphere during dinner.
A vocal-led group, The Soul Essentials perform relaxed pop and soul music to keep your guests entertained whilst eating.

Your wedding music package doesn't have to end after the band's final set! After the party band has finished, you can round off the evening with our Auto DJ service.
You can build your own playlists at home and plug your laptop or phone into our top quality PA system, giving you total control over what music is played when we're not performing.
We provide this service free of charge during the band breaks and until 7 hours after we've arrived at the venue (i.e. until midnight if we're booked to arrive at 5pm) - with the option to extend the service for a small additional charge.
Small extras that make a big difference.
Our party bands have an extensive repertoire list, and when you book us we include one song request free of charge (usually for your first dance).
We can also learn more new songs for you - get in touch if you'd like a quote for our song arranging services.
Do you have a videographer at your wedding? If so, why not talk to us about professionally recording the band's performance to make the soundtrack for your wedding video - it's cheaper than you might think and makes your wedding video incredibly personal.

Production adds so much value to your wedding - making your venue really look magical.
Down for the Count have worked with all the major UK production companies, and are happy to send technical specifications on request. Alternatively, we can provide our own production (PA and stage lighting) for weddings where you have up to 200/250 guests.
You can always hire small "production extras" directly from us - including uplighters, dance floor lighting and grand piano hire. For anything else, we have a great list of contacts who will definitely be able to help - check out our list of recommended wedding suppliers for starters!
